Theme

“Geospatial and Human Dimensions on Sustainable Natural Resource Management”

Aims

The seminar is designed to:

  1. Understand human and environment systems;
  2. Integrate science perspectives to reflect the recognition of the fundamental nature of how human activities on land affecting feedbacks to the earth system and the response of the human-environment system;
  3. Facilitate Indonesian and international research communities and practitioners works on land and natural resource issues communicating their recent findings;
  4. Link research findings and practical lessons learnt to policy and implementations.

Focus

  1. The focus of this conference is largely “land-centric” which includes the issues on people, biota, and natural resources such as air, water, plants, animals, and soil.
  2. REDD, Spatial planning, and land tenure
  3. The strategy presented here critically emphasizes changes in the coupled human and environmental system.

Sessions

The Seminar consists of 5 themes to accommodate recent issues in the topics. The plenary session will be held in first day of the seminar

Session 1: GEOSPATIAL (GEOSARNAS 2011)

Theme: “Emerging Geospatial Information Retrievals and Applications”

  5. Politics of Exclusion: Large scale business in food and renewable energy, the role of the state and the consequences for local communities.

Session 4: FOOD AND ENVIRONMENT

Theme: “Climate Change Induced Environmental Degradation and Food Crisis”

Abstract

  • Abstract should be about 200 words with clear, unambiguous title followed by author name(s), affiliation(s), and email contact. Participants have an option to present their paper in English or in Bahasa Indonesia (with an English abstract). Please indicate intended session/topic group and key words in the abstract. Please send the abstract to geoinfo.ipb@gmail.com
  • The Abstract Form could be downloaded on the website (https://ghnrm.wordpress.com)
  • Abstract submission deadline: 31 July 2011
  • Abstract acceptance notification: 8 August 2011

Registration

  • After submited an abstract to the organizer committee, the participant could arrange their registration.
  • The Participant that have received a letter of acceptance must register and pay for the participation fee
  • Download the Registration Form and answer the questions on the form clearly and completely ( could be in English or Indonesian and preferably typewritten). If you need more space you can attach additional pages, but make sure to indicate the number of the questions you are answering.
  • Full Paper submission deadline: 20 August 2011 (to be included on e-Proceeding).
  • Registration: started from 15 July 2011
  • The Registration also required a copy of your passport or other official identity document

The organizing committee already listed speaker names and topics needed for participants.

The keynote speakers of the plenary are:
